Dogs welcome, large or small, one or more. A Greyhound haven!

The voluntary work Jenny and Stuart started in July 2004 is a memorial to their darling Penny. Without her coming into their lives none of this would have happened.

When adopting a greyhound the suggested donation is £150.00 which goes towards neutering, inoculations, upkeep etc. Some people give a little less, while
others want to give more. We are quite flexible with this, and with this we provide:

CAN YOU TEMPORARILY FOSTER A GREYHOUND FOR US?
Fosterers are a valuable part of greyhound rescue in that another greyhound is living life away from the kennels and taking the first steps towards getting used to the family way of life. If you live in the South Lakes or the surrounding area and would like to foster a greyhound until we can find him or her a new home.
please contact Jenny or Stuart

Stan

Stan arrived on Saturday 10th November 2012
Went to his new home on Sunday 11th November 2012.

Stan's arrival and a brief history

Stan is a male ex-racing greyhound who weighs about 30k. Born in October 2010 he is a stunning black dog covered with white flecks. He's already been neutered on the vet's advice because only one testicle dropped, and is microchipped, but will need his inoculations bringing up to date. Stan walks nicely on the lead and travels well in the car.

Stan's Diary
10th November 2012
Stan, although that wasn't his original name arrived today - what a lovely lad he is and so handsome. I've never seen a dog with white specks everywhere, they are even on his ears, down his nose, his tail and on his feet. What a stunning boy he is.
11th November 2012
The family interested in Stan arrived today, instantly fell in love with him and once all the adoption paperwork was complete, took him home with them where we hope he will have a long and happy life.
19th November 2012
We received an email today along with some photos of Stan settling into his new home. His new owners say he is fantastic, and has settled right in with them.  They are loving going out walking with him early every morning....they do a big lap round town and go on the castle field.  He loves sleeping in front of the fire as his new busy lifestyle photos shows, and he went to the vets last week for his first injection, and to be checked over - they said he was fine.
