The voluntary work Jenny and Stuart started in July 2004 is a memorial to their darling Penny. Without her coming into their lives none of this would have happened.

Brody's arrival and a brief history

Black Greyhound
Brody is a lovely small black ex-racing greyhound who was born in October 2008. Weighing 28.8k, he is house trained, neutered, microchipped and inoculated.
Brody is a very laid back and friendly lad, who took a little while to come from his shell and has now turned into a lovely affectionate companion. From what we've seen so far Brody is alright with other breeds of dogs, but as is usual this is an on-going assessment while he is with us. He walks nicely on the lead and travels well in the car
.
Brody's Diary
* The branch kennel at the bottom of our garden is where Brody and the other resident(s) will be for the first day or so until he gets to know the other greyhounds. He has use of our garden and paddock, and once he gets to know the other dogs he will be allowed in the house during the day and all the dogs will then take it in turn to sleep in the house at night, so they become used to sleeping in both the kennel and the house.

14th July 2013

18th July 2013
Brody was upgraded to living in the house all the time today because 4 new greyhounds were arriving at short notice and we needed the kennel for them.
19th July 2013
Brody has been really good in the house. There have been no accidents and we never heard a peep out of him all night. He made his bed in the crate we have in the living room and this morning when it was time for them to all go in the garden to do their toilet, Brody was not for moving. Popping his lead on and waving a treat in front of him did the trick though and out he went with the others.
He's only small for a dog and his back is level with Indi's and Lena's when he stands next to them.
Brody waits patiently for his food and once given it he eats it nicely. Since Joe left yesterday he's not been wearing a muzzle in the garden and has been fine with all the others. This possibly shows there was a pack order issue between them that hadn't quite been resolved!
6th August 2013
This morning Brody took a trip to the vet where he had his second inoculation and his neutering stitches removed.
While in the waiting room he saw a number of other breeds of dogs, all of whom he just ignored. Stuart, who took him in said he was "as good as gold".
He gave me a lovely greeting upon his return home and once he'd had his breakfast he crashed out for the rest of the morning and slept things off!
Brody waits nicely for his meals and eats his food quite gently. Once eaten he knows not to take from the other dog's bowls and now, knowing his name comes running into the garden to do his toilet before returning to the house again.
This evening Brody discovered the settee, but he still likes to sleep the night on the dog bed by my side of the bed!
25th September 2013
This afternoon the family who chose to re-home both Jamie and Brody came to complete the adoption paperwork and take them home with them. Everything complete and off they went to their new home where we hope they will both have a long and happy life together with their new family.
3rd February 2014
We heard today via a friend on Facebook that she met Brody and his owner in the vets a few days ago. Apparently, a slight repair was needed after he accidently jumped on his sleeping companion Jamie! Just a few stitches and all seems okay again.
12th May 2014
This afternoon we received an email with a photo of Jamie and Brody sitting on their settee at home looking well and very happy
