The voluntary work Jenny and Stuart started in July 2004 is a memorial to their darling Penny. Without her coming into their lives none of this would have happened.

If you live in the South Lakes or the surrounding area and would like to foster a greyhound until we can find him or her a new home.

Troy's arrival and a brief history

white and black greyhound
Troy is a stunning white and black ex-racing greyhound who was born on the 24th October 2008. He weighs 32.3k, and from what we've been told he is a very gentle boy who is very laid back, friendly and not at all nervous.
He loves meeting people and his tail never stops wagging. He walks nicely on the lead, and his ex-owner's 6 year old grand daughter regularly walked him.
Troy is microchipped and since arriving here is now house trained, neutered and inoculated. He travels well in a car and is good with children.
Troy's Diary
* The branch kennel at the bottom of our garden is where Troy and the other resident(s) will be for the first day or so until he gets to know the other greyhounds. He has use of our garden and paddock, and once he gets to know the other dogs he will be allowed in the house during the day and all the dogs will then take it in turn to sleep in the house at night, so they become use to sleeping in both the kennel and the house.

23rd June 2013

24th June 2013
This morning Troy took a trip to the vets where he is to be neutered and given his first inoculation because he came with no paperwork. He weighed in at 32.3k.
All went well with his operation and we collected him this evening at the same time as we collected Rossi who was having a dental. Back in the kennel he continued to sleep things off for a while and a little later when he seemed more bright and becoming unsettled I fed him. He enjoyed that, did his toilet then back in the kennel for the rest of the night.
9th July 2013
Troy took a visit to the vets to have his neutering stitches removed and be given his second inoculation. He weighed in at 30k.
11th July 2013
This afternoon I drove Troy over to his new home where he explored the garden again, then made himself at home on the settee. All the paperwork etc. completed one of his new owners took him in the garden with a bag of treats so I could leave without him seeing me go. This is something we always do when we take a dog to their new home so the distraction reduces them being stressed at seeing me leave.
Troy has gone to a lovely home and we wish him a long and happy life with his new family.
23rd December 2013
We received a Christmas card today from Troy's owners letting us know that Troy's 'fan club' is getting bigger each day. Everyone thinks he's a handsome dog and he's already received some Christmas cards
