Brindle Greyhound
Billy a handsome brindle ex-racing greyhound who is Lena and Chrissie's litter brother. Born on the 9th June 2011, he weighs 31k, is inoculated including kennel cough, is microchipped, and we have been told he has a lovely nature.

Billy's Diary
* The branch kennel at the bottom of our garden is where Billy and the other resident(s) will be for the first day or so until he gets to know the other greyhounds. He has use of our garden and paddock, and once he gets to know the other dogs he will be allowed in the house during the day and all the dogs will then take it in turn to sleep in the house at night, so they become use to sleeping in both the kennel and the house.

The owners of Tara arrived this afternoon bringing her and Alfie, their lurcher with them to visit the greyhounds to see who got on best with them both especially Alfie. Tara is getting an old lady now and tends to keep herself to herself most times and slots in with what's going on.
Billy was a bit excited at greeting them to begin with, and we thought he might not be the right one. However, he eventually calmed down and enjoyed following Alfie around the garden as he went exploring. Alfie suddenly set off at a run and Billy followed him, both of them loving every minute of it. Must admit, there was a bit of panic on my part because Billy still had stitches in from his neutering operation and was't supposed to run like that until they had been removed. However, upon examination afterwards all seemed okay.

We heard this afternoon that Billy is settling in well. Following his run round the garden with Alfie he started limping on his front right leg, so his new owners took him to the vet and phoned me. I explained it was the leg he'd hurt to cause him to retire, and it was a fairly recent injury. The vet gave him some Metacam for a couple of days and suggested they not run him again for a little while to give it chance to heal properly.
