This afternoon Beauty arrived. Within an hour of her arrival a couple who came to look at the greyhounds with a view to getting a companion for theirs took her out for a walk. She went with their greyhound to see how the two dogs felt about each other. All seemed fine and they reserved her.

This morning Beauty went to the vets to be spayed where she weighed in at 27.95k. All went well with her operation and we collected her later in the afternoon. Back home she settled in a quiet area and slept the rest of the anaesthetic off.

This afternoon we drove Beauty to her new home where she will be the companion for another greyhound called Juno. They both remembered each other, Beauty had a good look around including the garden out the back then lay on one of the dog beds in the living room and dozed off.
We did all the adoption paperwork, wished Beauty a long and happy life with her new family and drove home.

This morning we received an email from Emmas new owner letting us know that:
"Ella is doing brilliantly and she is an important part of our family, loved by all! She and Juno are a great team. Ella has a lovely personality. Always cheeky and up to something! "
A link to an article in the Lancaster Guardian was also attached because they did an article on Ella and Juno when their local pub named 2 beers after them.

We received an email today letting us know that
"Ella has settled in so well. She is such a happy girl and she and Juno show a lot of affection to each other now. She is very playful and quite talkative! She gets us all going every morning!
Here is a recent picture of Juno and Ella waiting for their breakfast! "

We received a sad and shocking email this morning letting us know that Ella had suddenly passed away yesterday morning. From the commencement of showing signs of illness to the point she passed away was an hour. As it all happened so quickly and from the symptoms shown she died of an embolism and there was nothing the vet who came out to her within 20 minutes of showing pain could do.
As can be imagined everyone was deeply shocked because she was so young, fit and well.
Rest in Peace darling Ella
God wanted you earlier
than we wanted you to leave us
Go run and play with the angels,
Run free and free from pain
Bless you our little beauty.
