Greyhounds in long-term fosterer homes:

ARE YOU ABLE TO TEMPORARILY FOSTER A GREYHOUND FOR US?

Fosterers are a valuable part of greyhound rescue in that another greyhound is living life away from the kennels and taking the first steps towards getting used to the family way of life. If you live in the South Lakes or the surrounding area and would like to foster a greyhound until we can find him or her a new home.
please contact Jenny or Stuart

Katie - Black Greyhound
Katie is a black ex-racing greyhound who has been living in a home environment since March 2015, but has come into 'rescue' through no fault of her own. She is house trained, spayed, inoculated and microchipped.
Katie is 4 years old and from what we've been told she has a lovely sweet nature, walks nicely on the lead, is okay with children, other breeds of dogs and travels well in the car.

Went to her new home on Thursday 12th November 2015 .
Katie's Diary
7th November 2015

8th November 2015
We heard about Katie on Friday and she arrived here yesterday afternoon. Katie has been living in a home since March with a couple and their two children. However, it was felt in Katie's best interest that she find another home that wasn't quite as busy. When I saw Katie I instantly knew she would be the perfect companion for a retired lady who I'd been looking for a dog for. The lady was as pleased as punch at hearing the news, has reserved Katie and once Katie's had her routine check-up with our vet she will be off to her new home.
Katie was a little on edge after her owner left - looking for her, but we introduced her to the other dogs and before long she was fast asleep on the settee, which is where she stayed all night. We got a lovely welcome this morning and today she's been fine. She's a super dog.
12th November 2015
Katie who came in to be fostered last Friday went to the vets for a routine check-up a couple of days ago. They gave her a clean bill of health so she went off to her new home this afternoon where we are sure she will have a long and happy life with her new owner - a retired lady who adored her from the moment she set eyes on her.
