Dogs welcome, large or small, one or more. A Greyhound haven!

The voluntary work Jenny and Stuart started in July 2004 is a memorial to their darling Penny. Without her coming into their lives none of this would have happened.

VISIT THE BRANCH by APPOINTMENT ONLY
Please ring for an appointment to come and see the greyhounds and have a chat. You are most welcome, but as we run a bed and breakfast it is essential you ring and arrange a date and time to visit.

ADOPTING A GREYHOUND

When adopting a greyhound the suggested donation is £150.00 which goes towards neutering, inoculations, upkeep etc. Some people give a little less, while
others want to give more. We are quite flexible with this, and with this we provide:
Martingale Collar, Lead, Muzzle and 4 weeks free cover with the insurance company PetPlan

CAN YOU TEMPORARILY FOSTER A GREYHOUND FOR US?
Fosterers are a valuable part of greyhound rescue in that another greyhound is living life away from the kennels and taking the first steps towards getting used to the family way of life. If you live in the South Lakes or the surrounding area and would like to foster a greyhound until we can find him or her a new home.
please contact Jenny or Stuart

Princess - black and white greyhound
Princess is a lovely black and white ex-racing greyhound who was born on the 1st December 2009 and weighs about 26.6k
Princess is spayed, inoculated and microchipped. Her next inoculations are due on the 3rd January 2016.
She's had 2 litters of pups (1st of 6, 2nd with 7) and she has a nice nature, travels well in a car and walks nicely on the lead. She is a very gentle dog who is good with children.

Went to her new home on Thursday 19th November 2015.

Princess's Diary
* The branch kennel at the bottom of our garden is where Princess and the other resident(s) will be for the first few days or so until she gets to know the other greyhounds. She has use of our garden and paddock, and once she gets to know the other dogs she will be allowed in the house during the day and all the dogs will then take it in turn to sleep in the house at night, so they become use to sleeping in both the kennel and the house.

14th November 2015
This morning Stuart took Diamond and Princess to Ulverston to meet Nicole, a volunteer who was hosting a dog show in Barrow-in-Furness and asked if she could take a couple of dogs to the show because the funds raised were coming to our branch for the dogs. She said Princess was beautifully behaved, saw many other breeds of dogs whom she never bothered with not even a boxer who growled at her. She met her new owner for the first time and arrangements were made for an adoption date.
19th November 2015
This afternoon we took Princess to her new home where we hope she will have a long and happy life with her new owner.
