The voluntary work Jenny and Stuart started in July 2004 is a memorial to their darling Penny. Without her coming into their lives none of this would have happened.

Scolar - black greyhound
Scolar is a black greyhound with a white dash down his nose who was born in January 2012 and weighs 29.1k.
He is house trained, neutered, inoculated and microchipped.
Scolar is a really nice quiet boy who loves cuddles, walks nicely on the lead and travels well in a car.

Went to his new home on Friday 30th October 2015.
Scolar's Diary

13th October 2015
Scolar arrived just after lunch - what a lovely dog he is although a little shy when he first met us, which may be because he was nervous and feeling somewhat out of his comfort zone.
After is owner left we introduced him one at a time to the other greyhounds, and because all the body language seemed okay we put muzzles on them all so they could freely wander around the garden together with no mishaps.
Scolar came in the house later, and although a little nervous to start with later settled to one of the dog beds in the living room.
Feeding him proved a little difficult because he was so wary of what was happening around him (2 others eating their dinner) he couldn't concentrate on his food until the other two were out of the kitchen, but then not for long. Leaving all his food other than the meat he went to the conservatory door asking to go out with the others.
Although a little unsettled we've had no accidents in the house and come bed time, once I showed him which was his bed and settled him down in it he went to sleep with all the others.
16th October 2015
This morning Scolar went to the vets to be neutered and to give him his first inoculation because he came with no paperwork. He weighed in at 29.1k
22nd October 2015
Found the white bath mat from our bathroom in Scolar's bed today with him sitting on it! Took it away and gave him one of his blankets to sit on.
23rd October 2015
Found the bath mat from our bathroom in Scolar's bed again today - just abandoned this time!
30th October 2015
This afternoon Scolar went off to his new home where we hope he has a long and happy life.
28th November 2015
We heard today that Scolar's doing fine. He's very happy in his new home, despite being terribly abused by his owner's daughter in law who puts the baby's socks on him when they visited their baby granddaughter. Scolar, they say is 100% safe with her.
4th December 2015
We received a picture today by email of Scolar fast asleep in his new home looking very chilled out and relaxed.
10th December 2015
Received an email this evening from Scolar's owners, this is what it said:
"Thought you'd be amused to know Scolar's been entertaining guests on his own. We both had to be out this evening so my friend Judith came round with Pip, her elderly but characterful Jack Russell. They had a lovely time with Scolar. Everyone likes him! Greyhounds are the best".
31st January 2016
We heard today that "Scolar's going on his first holiday tomorrow, a short break to celebrate an 80th birthday, it will be me and Steve, our son Tom and his wife Eglė, baby Emilija and mum in law Jude, and Scolar". This evening he had his pre-holiday bath which involved laying in front of the fire on a towel to dry off.
17th April 2016
This afternoon we received an email from Scolar's owner with a picture of him soaking up some rays after a hard morning running on the shore at Bolton le Sands.
