Ebbie - black greyhound
Ebbie is a beautiful black greyhound who just didn't want to race. She was born on the 1st December 2013, weighs 27k, is house trained, spayed and microchipped. Her next annual inoculation is due on the 6th June 2016.
Ebbie enjoys playing with other dogs and her toys and is still quite puppyish. She has a lovely friendly and affectionate nature and adores being cuddled. She walks nicely on the lead and travels well in a car.

Went to her new home on Tuesday 23rd March 2016.

Ebbie's Diary
1st March 2016
This afternoon both Ebbie and Bonnie arrived with their owner/trainer. What a couple of beautiful dogs they are. Ebbie has retired from racing and her owner/trainier said she was a very friendly girl who was okay with dogs and because of her gentle nature he believed she may even be cat trainable, but she'd not been tested.
After her owner/trainer left we introduced her to all our other greyhounds and all was well so we let her in the house where she had a good look around and before long had settled to one of the beds in the living room.
22nd March 2016
This afternoon Ebbie was adopted and once all the paperwork was complete off she went to her new home where we hope she will have a long and happy life.

24th March 2016
We received a Facebook message today from Ebbie's new owner - or Evie as she is now called.
" Evie has asked me to send you a note "Well Jenny the food is living up to the standard you set, the kibble is a bit different but it is Okay, Trev mixes it with my meat, a bit of bread and adds a bit of water. Settled down Okay on my first night, started off sleeping with Grandad Rambi, tried to get on Trev's sofa but he wouldn't let me so I settled on the other sofa and had a really good sleep. I've had a few wee,s all outside, I've had 3 poos, one was inside but Trev explained that I had so much to get used to that it was to be expected, he wasn't bothered until Rambi put his foot in it!
Went to a great park this morning, lots and lots of dogs both small and big. A friendly white Retriever took a fancy to me and everybody started singing Ebony and Ivory. Then we all went to a cafe in the park and I let everybody compliment me. This afternoon Trev took me to a really cold and foggy spot which he told me was over 1,200 feet high, we didn't stay long and old Rambi didn't join us. I have just had my third meal of the day but the portions are smaller than you gave me. After I've finished this Trev is going to give me a chew, he is going to get some things from the internet that he tells me will last me until I am as old as Rambi. Tonight I think that I will go onto the sofa straight away and leave Trev in peace on the other sofa. I don't know why he thinks he should have the big one. Well, onto my chew now so bye for now".

26th March 2016
We received another Facebook message this evening letting us know that:
"Evie has been great, the people at the park love her, been great with the cats (I will remain careful for sometime though). She is very loving, full of fun, masses of energy and a total pleasure. The 2 things that I am concentrating on at the moment are 1) to get fully socialised with all dogs and our cats, she hasn't put a foot wrong yet, and 2) to get her to understand that she is not to jump up at people. Some people love it, as I do, but I think it best to get her out of the habit. My thanks to everybody who has been involved with this lovely lady".
4th April 2016
Another Facebook message from Evie's new owner:
" She is great Jenny, a real personality, she has settled down really well and has a new game of hiding my slippers. When we put something down we think "Is this out of Evie's reach".

She has now claimed her owner's favourite chair and they say she is a delight, very playful and affectionate and even their two cats are beginning to like her.
9th May 2016
We heard today that:
"Evie has been brilliant since she came. She hides everything, she takes anything within reach, she is a really happy soul though and that is all that matters".
