Dogs welcome, large or small, one or more. A Greyhound haven!

The voluntary work Jenny and Stuart started in July 2004 is a memorial to their darling Penny. Without her coming into their lives none of this would have happened.

Ivy is a beautiful brindle ex-racing greyhound who was born in March 2012. She weighs 27k and is house trained, spayed, inoculated and microchipped. She has a lovely calm nature with no vices, walking nicely on the lead and travelling well in a car.

Went to her new home on Saturday 1st October 2016.

Ivy's Diary
1st June 2016

25th June 2016
This afternoon the couple who met Ivy last Sunday and reserved her called in to complete the adoption paperwork and take her home with them. Before she left Stuart removed the tiny piece of disolvable stitch knot that had come from one end of her spaying scar and scabbed over. It was only a tiny piece but it was best removed and underneath all was nicely healed.
Papers signed, new martingale collar and lead chosen, and off she went with them to her new home where we hope she will have a long and happy life.
26th June 2016
We heard this afternoon that Ivy seems to be settling in with one or two little incidents - all part of the learning curve! She had a couple of accidents in the house when she first arrived, ate a chunk from a loaf of bread left on the kitchen work surface, finished off a couple of mugs of tea and coffee left unattended on a low table and ran off with her new owner's bra!
This afternoon she seems more settled with her new environment and has been for a walk around town.
21st August 2016
We received a phone call this morning asking if Ivy could be returned to us. Ivy arrived back around 6.30 pm amidst much sadness and tears, their employment circumstances had changed and it was felt in Ivy's best interest she be returned to us and we find her another home.
Ivy was rather quiet to begin with but within a couple of hours she had settled and fell asleep on the carpet in the kitchen close to where I was doing the ironing.
22nd August 2016
This morning Ivy seemed fine and was settling in with us and our routine once again.
24th August 2016
It was a beautiful day and Emily, one of our volunteers came to walk the dogs, afterwards we sat in the garden and she took some lovely photos of Ivy and the others relaxing on the lawn in the sunshine.
1st October 2016
This afternoon Ivy went off to her new home where she will become a companion for Riley who we rehomed earlier in the year. Ivy and Riley came from the same kennels so they may have known each other before and we wish them both a long and happy life together.
