Greyhounds in long-term fosterer homes:

ARE YOU ABLE TO TEMPORARILY FOSTER A GREYHOUND FOR US?

Fosterers are a valuable part of greyhound rescue in that another greyhound is living life away from the kennels and taking the first steps towards getting used to the family way of life. If you live in the South Lakes or the surrounding area and would like to foster a greyhound until we can find him or her a new home.
please contact Jenny or Stuart

BRINDLE

Lacey is a brindle ex-racing greyhound who is cat trainable.
Lacey is spayed, inoculated and microchipped. She is a happy girl who loves greeting people with a wagging tail, walks nicely on the lead and travels well in a car.

Went to her new home on Saturday 28th May 2016.

Lacey's Diary
* The branch kennel at the bottom of our garden is where Lacey and the other resident(s) will be for the first day or so until she gets to know the other greyhounds. She has use of our garden and paddock, and once she gets to know the other dogs she will be allowed in the house during the day and all the dogs will then take it in turn to sleep in the house at night, so they become use to sleeping in both the kennel and the house.

18th December 2016
We have just received a Christmas card with a letter inside letting us know that Annie and Lacey have settled in together very well and their new owners are delighted with them both.
Annie now with a companion is now completely over her separation anxiety and she tolerates being cuddled by Lacey, who loves to snuggle up to her friend.
Lacey is not as bold as Annie, but she is coming out of her shell and is beginning to play with Annie. Lacey's not keen on the hoover and the bald patches on her back legs are still there, but it's believed to be slowly coming back.
Both dogs are great ambassadors for greyhounds and make human friends wherever they go. Their owners thanked us for introducing them to two such lovely girls! They have given them a great deal of pleasure.
