CAN YOU TEMPORARILY FOSTER A GREYHOUND FOR US?

Fosterers are a valuable part of greyhound rescue in that another greyhound is living life away from the kennels and taking the first steps towards getting used to the family way of life. If you live in the South Lakes or the surrounding area and would like to foster a greyhound until we can find him or her a new home.
please contact Jenny or Stuart

Oliver - white & brindle Greyhound
Oliver is a lovely, friendly white and brindle ex-racing greyhound who was born on the 15th September 2011 and weighs 32.25k
Oliver is house trained, neutered, inoculated and microchipped. He is small dog friendly, walks okay on the lead and travels well in a car.

Went to his new home on Tuesday 1st March 2016.

Oliver's Diary
22nd February 2016
This afternoon Oliver's trainer/owner brought him here for us to foster and find him a new home. What a handsome dog he is. He got on fine with the greyhounds already here and very quickly settled in to being in a home.
23rd February 2016
This morning Oliver went to the vets to be neutered and start his inoculations because his previous ones had lapsed. He weighed in at 32.25k and the vet said he was fit and well.
When we called to collect him later in the afternoon the nurse made comment that while he was under the anaesthetic his heart started to race, he's now fine, but it's something his new owners to be should mention to their vets so they are aware in case he ever needs an anaesthetic again.
Oliver was very quiet and looked very sorry for himself when he was home so we helped him to a bed in the corner of the kitchen where he slept things off.
24th February 2016
This morning Oliver was fine and waiting for his breakfast which he really enjoyed.
25th February 2016
This evening we did a home check for a couple and took Oliver with us. All was well and they reserved Oliver until he was ready to go and live with them.
1st March 2016
This afternoon Oliver went off with his new family to his forever home where we hope he will have a long and happy life.
3rd March 2016
We heard today that Oliver is settling in well, his new owners just have to watch him with his toys because he has a tendency to throw them across the room or over the top of the dining table!
