Dogs welcome, large or small, one or more. A Greyhound haven!

The voluntary work Jenny and Stuart started in July 2004 is a memorial to their darling Penny. Without her coming into their lives none of this would have happened.

VISIT THE BRANCH by APPOINTMENT ONLY
Please ring for an appointment to come and see the greyhounds and have a chat. You are most welcome, but as we run a bed and breakfast it is essential you ring and arrange a date and time to visit.

ADOPTING A GREYHOUND

When adopting a greyhound the suggested donation is £150.00 which goes towards neutering, inoculations, upkeep etc. Some people give a little less, while
others want to give more. We are quite flexible with this, and with this we provide:
Martingale Collar, Lead, Muzzle and 4 weeks free cover with the insurance company PetPlan

CAN YOU TEMPORARILY FOSTER A GREYHOUND FOR US?
Fosterers are a valuable part of greyhound rescue in that another greyhound is living life away from the kennels and taking the first steps towards getting used to the family way of life. If you live in the South Lakes or the surrounding area and would like to foster a greyhound until we can find him or her a new home.
please contact Jenny or Stuart

Wishes is a white and black greyhound who was born on the 1st January 2008. Since retiring she's been living in a home with another greyhound and a Jack Russell. Sadly her owner became ill so the dogs have gone into rescue or been re-homed.
Wishes has a beautiful nature, walks lovely on the lead, is okay with children and other breeds of dogs, is house trained, spayed and microchipped. We are currently bringing her inoculations up to date and she's recently having a dental.

Went to her new home on Wednesday 4th January 2017.

Wishes's Diary

19th December 2016
This morning we took Wishes to the vets where she weighed in at 29.4 kg. We took her for a check-up and for her first inoculation because she arrived here with no paperwork. The vet said she was in good health but needed a dental. She's already had some teeth out earlier on but she now needs them cleaning badly and with a view to having more removed. Bless her!
4th January 2017
This afternoon Wishes went off to her new home where we hope she will have a long and happy life.
16th February 2017
Today Wishes visited her vet where she was examined and a sore that had developed on her leg was bandaged and an appointment made for a few days time to have it checked again. She weighed in at 27.75kg.
4th January 2018
We heard today there was a little meeting in Morecambe today to celebrate Wishes and Dougie's 1st year together. Anne who has Dream and Corni said it was lovely on the beach, 6 greyhounds all playing in the sunshine. Wishes looked really well and was happy with all her friends, which was nice to hear.
