Greyhounds in long-term fosterer homes:

CAN YOU TEMPORARILY FOSTER A GREYHOUND FOR US?

Fosterers are a valuable part of greyhound rescue in that another greyhound is living life away from the kennels and taking the first steps towards getting used to the family way of life. If you live in the South Lakes or the surrounding area and would like to foster a greyhound until we can find him or her a new home.
please contact Jenny or Stuart
T: 015395 52394 or email us for more information

DOG WALKING
Would you like to walk a Greyhound?
Volunteers offering to take a Greyhound for a walk, an afternoon out or a stop-over play a very important role here at the branch.

Maeve is a small white and bindle ex-racing greyhound who was born on the 5th July 2012. She weighs about 21 kg. and is okay around other breeds of dogs, has no issues, is good on the lead and travels well in a car.
Maeve was rehomed on the 12th March 2017 and was settling in well, but sadly came back to us on the 7th July 2017 because of her owners decline in health.

Went to her forever home on Wednesday 2nd August 2017.

Maeve's Diary
26th February 2017
This afternoon Maeve arrived and what a pretty little girl she is. After we introduced her to the others she had a wander round the garden then came in the house where it took her all of five minutes to settle.

12th March 2017

13th March 2017
Maeve's new owner said she's been fantastic - eating all her food and slept all night peacefully in her bed, which she seems to love. She is settling in so well and has been totally clean

7th July 2017
Sadly Maeve was returned to us today through no fault of her own. Her new owner's health had deteriorated and she was finding it increasingly more difficult to walk Maeve to the extent she needed. It was an emotional event, but her owner said it had to be done.
Upon leaving Maeve wanted to follow her new owner but after a short while she settled and will soon be back into our routine.

2nd August 2017
This evening Maeve went off to her forever home on the Isle of Man where we hope she will have a long and happy life with her new family.
