The voluntary work Jenny and Stuart started in July 2004 is a memorial to their darling Penny. Without her coming into their lives none of this would have happened.

CAN YOU TEMPORARILY FOSTER
A
GREYHOUND
FOR US?
Fosterers are a valuable part of
greyhound rescue in that another
greyhound is
living life away from
the kennels and taking the first
steps towards getting used to
the family
way of life. If you live in the South
Lakes or the
surrounding area and
would like to
foster a greyhound until we can find him or her a new home.
please contact
Jenny
or Stuart

Sonny is a large stunning white and black ex-racing greyhound who was born on the 14th July 2012. He weighs 38.5 kg., is house trained, neutered, inoculated and microchipped.
Sonny is a very happy dog who is fine with children and loves a lot of fuss and attention. He gets quite excited at the idea of going for a walk but is okay on the lead once he's out. He travels well in a car, is okay with other breeds of dogs while out walking but can be a bit on the rough side when he first meets them, which we hope will reduce as more come into his world. He really is a super lad, fantastic with children and will make someone a lovely companion.
Went to his new home on Monday 18th December 2017. |
Sonny's Diary |
27th July 2017
The branch kennel at the bottom
of our garden is where Sonny
and
Bess stayed for the first few days until Bess went off to her new home. Sonny then came in the house with the other greyhounds.
3rd August 2017
This morning Sonny went to the vets for his first inoculation because he came with no paperwork.
19th September 2017
This morning Sonny went to the vets for his second inoculation bringing everything up to date.
29th November 2017
This morning Sonny went off to the vets this morning where he was going to donate blood to the Pet Blood Bank. He weighed in at 89.3kg, he was pronounced in good health, a sample taken and tested then he gave his pint of blood which will go into the Pet Bood Bank and used for dogs needing blood during operations. He was really good, so well done Sonny. He's got his red life saver tag to go on his collar with his name tag and he's got his blood donor bandana to wear with pride on our monthly walks.
